# Privacy Policy — Blacklight Cal

Aircraft Structural Inspections LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the UVA Blacklight Checker mobile application (the “App”). This policy explains what information the App accesses, how it’s used, and what it does not do.

## Information We Collect

The App does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on our servers. We do not operate a backend server for this App — it communicates only with a specific Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) hardware device (“UVA Blacklight Checker”) that you own and operate directly.

Specifically:

– **Sensor readings** (UV-A irradiance, ambient light level, device battery/status) are read from the wand over a direct Bluetooth connection and displayed live on your device’s screen. These readings are not saved, logged, or transmitted anywhere by the App.

– **No account or personal information** is collected. The App does not require sign-in, and does not ask for your name, email, or any other personal identifier.

– **No analytics or advertising.** The App contains no analytics SDKs, ad networks, or third-party trackers.

## Permissions We Request and Why

| **Location** (Android only, older versions) | Android requires location permission to perform Bluetooth Low Energy scans on Android 11 and below, due to how the OS classifies BLE scanning. **The App does not access, use, collect, or store your actual GPS or location data in any way** — this permission exists solely to satisfy the Android OS’s BLE scanning requirement. On Android 12 and later, we request the more specific Bluetooth permissions instead, which don’t carry this location requirement. |

## Data Sharing

We do not share any data with third parties, because the App does not collect or transmit any data off of your device in the first place.

## Data Retention

The App does not persist any calibration readings, logs, or records between sessions.

## Children’s Privacy

This App is a professional tool intended for use by trained non-destructive testing (NDT) inspection personnel and is not directed at or intended for use by children.
